About Appledore

Appledore is a historic fishing village in North Devon with winding narrow streets and colourful houses, Appledore is full of maritime history as it sits at the confluence of the Taw and Torridge rivers with lovely views across to Instow. Tourists and travellers will love the chance to explore by taking the seasonal ferry over to the neighbouring Instow for a day trip.

The village is built on a tradition of fishing and boat building which still continues today. For centuries, Appledore was an important shipbuilding centre for the region and because of this is home to the North Devon Maritime Museum.

WW2 80 BEACON LIGHTING.Celebrate, commemorate, respect but above all…..never forget.What a lovely friendly concert and crowd to lead up to Terry managing not to set the bank alight😉🤣🚒Joking aside the band holds gigs like this very dear to our heart and are always proud to play at commemorative events.We followed the superb shanties of The Apple Corers and in turn were followed by Lammy with a beautifully detailed story of the war in the far east.
